The painting has the following poem painted into it:
Moon rises full, the air beneath our wings
will lift us up, will lift us up in flight,
the orb has lit our way to start tonight.
We feel the change that change of season brings,
we've grown in strength to carry us beyond
the fear of winter's cold or summer's heat.
We go to pastures know to be replete
with food and shelter. Riverbank and pond
await us now. We follow, Vs and rows,
guided by ancient knowledge. As the moon wanes
we make our voyage over hills and plains,
pulled on by equinox's undertow.
Winter or summer home will see us soon,
we fly there with the equinox full moon.
